S/FTP cable.

Also written SFTP cable, braid and foil cable, double shielded Cat 6A.

What is S/FTP cable and when is it specified?

S/FTP cable carries an overall braid around four individually foiled pairs, the heaviest screening the letters describe. It is specified where Cat 6A must hold 10 gigabit beside motors, drives or dense bundles, and wherever alien crosstalk between cables has to be shut out entirely. It needs shielded jacks, shielded cords and an earthed panel, or the braid is dead weight.

Defined by ISO/IEC 11801, which defines the screening code letters, published by ISO/IEC.
