What is Cat 6A cable?
Cat 6A is a twisted-pair copper cabling standard rated to 500 MHz, double the bandwidth of Cat 6. It supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet across the full 100 metre channel, which Cat 6 cannot do reliably. The cable is physically larger and less flexible than Cat 6, so pathway fill and bend radius have to be planned for it.
Defined by ANSI/TIA-568.2-D, ISO/IEC 11801 Class EA, published by TIA.
