What is alien crosstalk and why does Cat 6A control it?
Alien crosstalk is noise that leaks between neighbouring cables in a bundle, rather than between pairs inside one cable. It matters because 10 Gigabit Ethernet over 100 metres is only possible when that noise is held down, and a Cat 6A cable is built to hold it down. For 10 gigabit copper runs, specify Cat 6A end to end.
Defined by ANSI/TIA-568.2-D, which sets the alien crosstalk limits Cat 6A components must meet, published by TIA.
