Cable certification.

Also written Field certification.

What is cable certification?

Certification is testing an installed link against the written standard and recording the result, which is what turns cabling work into a warranty. A verification tester says the pairs are connected; a certifier measures the link against the class limits and prints pass or fail with the numbers. Ask for the test report on any job, because it is the only proof the links behind the walls perform.

Defined by ANSI/TIA-568.2-D and ISO/IEC 11801, whose limits the certifier measures against, published by TIA and ISO/IEC.
