Multimode pigtails.

Also written OM4 pigtail, OM3 pigtail, aqua pigtail.

Which pigtail for a multimode cable?

A multimode pigtail must match the grade of the cable it is spliced to, OM4 on OM4, OM3 on OM3, because a splice between grades works but costs the link its rated reach. It carries the connector the LIU's plate takes, LC or SC, and one is needed per fibre terminated. The aqua boot marks it apart from the yellow single mode pigtail.

Defined by ANSI/TIA-568.3-D for optical fibre cabling components, published by TIA.
