Fibre count.

Also written Core count, 12F and 24F, Fibre cores.

How many fibres should a cable have?

Fibre count is the number of individual glass strands inside one cable, written 6F, 12F or 24F. Since a normal duplex link uses two fibres, a 12 fibre cable carries six circuits. Buy more count than today needs: the pull and the splicing effort are the same either way, and spare dark fibre saves a second dig later.
