MPO trunk.

What is an MPO trunk?

An MPO trunk is a factory-terminated fibre cable carrying twelve or twenty-four fibres into one rectangular connector, tested before it ships. It trades flexibility on site for hours saved and a printed test result per fibre, which is why data centre backbones use it. Polarity is the trap: the two ends and the cassettes between them have to be planned as one system, not bought as parts.

Defined by IEC 61754-7, the MPO connector interface, published by IEC.
