MPO and MTP.

Also written MPO connector, MTP connector, Multi-fibre push-on.

What is the difference between MPO and MTP?

MPO is the multi-fibre connector standard, holding twelve or twenty four fibres in one ferrule so a whole trunk lands in a single push. MTP is US Conec's branded version of that same connector, built to tighter tolerances. Every MTP is an MPO and mates with one; not every MPO is an MTP.

Defined by IEC 61754-7, with ANSI/TIA-568.3-D on polarity and the array assemblies, published by IEC and TIA.
