What is an MCX connector?

An MCX connector is a miniature snap-on coaxial connector about a third the size of an SMA, used where a radio module, a GPS receiver or a tuner card has no room for a threaded interface. It pushes on and pulls off with no tool and holds by a spring. It is a 50 ohm or 75 ohm interface by build, and it is ordered by gender, cable and mounting.

Defined by The IEC 61169 series, which specifies RF coaxial connectors interface by interface, published by IEC.
