SHV connectors.

Also written safe high voltage connector, 5 kV coaxial connector, detector connector.

What is an SHV connector?

A bayonet coaxial connector for high voltage, rated to 5 kilovolts, that looks like a large BNC and deliberately will not mate with one. The centre contact is recessed so a finger cannot reach it while the cable is live, which is where the name, safe high voltage, comes from. It carries the bias supply to detectors, photomultipliers and X-ray equipment on RG-58 and RG-59 cable.
