Software defined wide area networking, or SD-WAN, steers traffic across two or more internet links automatically. It watches each link's delay and loss continuously and moves applications to the healthier path, so one failing broadband line no longer takes the video calls down with it. It needs a second link to earn its keep; pair the main line with a connection of a different kind.
