Why do PoE cable bundles get hot?

Power over Ethernet pushes current through the same conductors that carry data, and current makes heat. With IEEE 802.3bt sourcing up to 90 watts per port, a tight bundle of powered cables warms from the inside and its loss rises. Keep bundles small, avoid sealed conduit, and prefer Cat 6A, whose thicker conductors run cooler.
