What is an HD D-sub connector?
A high density D-sub packs three rows of contacts into the same D shaped shell a standard density part fills with two. The smallest shell takes 15 contacts where the standard build takes 9, so more signals pass through the same panel cutout. Check the density before ordering, because the contact pattern differs and the two do not mate. Hoods and fixing hardware carry over.
