What is a fibre patch cord?

A fibre patch cord is a short optical lead with a factory fitted connector on each end, joining a port to a panel. A duplex cord carries two fibres, one for each direction of the link; a simplex cord carries one. Match the connector at each end, the mode of the fibre it joins, and the polish; then choose the length.
