How many runs does a 305 metre box of cable give?
Divide by the run, then subtract the waste. At the 90 metre maximum a box gives three runs; at the 30 to 40 metres a typical office floor actually needs, seven or eight. Measure the longest pulls on the drawing rather than averaging, allow around 10 per cent for termination tails and mistakes, and round the boxes up, never down.
Defined by ANSI/TIA-568.2-D, which limits the permanent link to 90 metres, published by TIA.
