Terminal block.

Also written DIN rail terminal, Screw terminal, Connection block.

What is a terminal block?

A terminal block is the small clamp that joins wires inside a panel without a joint you cannot undo. Blocks snap side by side onto the standard 35 mm rail, and each holds its wire under a screw or a spring clamp. Screw terminals suit rework; spring clamps resist vibration and need no torque check. Size the block to the conductor cross section.

Defined by IEC 60947-7-1, which covers terminal blocks for copper conductors, published by IEC.
