An OS2 single mode patch cord is the yellow jacketed lead for links that leave the building or run past 500 metres, and for any link a single mode transceiver drives. Choose the connector at each end, LC or SC, the polish, UPC for equipment and APC for FTTH, and the length. Never plug a single mode cord into a multimode port.
