Coverage has to hold inside rooms separated by dense walls, on floors where nobody will accept a visible access point or a surface trunk, and the back of house has its own network that guests must never touch. The result is more cable, more small runs and more thought about where a device can physically go.

How many access points does a hotel need?
It depends on the floor plate rather than the room count: wall construction, corridor length and riser positions decide it. Data Systems will heat map the plan with its OEMs and a group of consultants and come back with placement and the material to match. Send the floor plan.
Can guest Wi-Fi be kept separate from the hotel's own systems?
Yes, and it should be. Guest traffic and back of house are separated at the edge, and that separation is part of the material specification rather than something added afterwards.
Do you supply cameras for a hotel as well?
Yes. Corridor, lobby and back-of-house surveillance is quoted on the same list as the network that carries it, so the switching is sized for the cameras rather than being discovered to be short later.
